Cold and partly cloudy weather conditions are expected to prevail today, with showers forecast in the northern and central regions of the Kingdom and parts of the eastern and southwestern areas, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said.
The downpour is expected to be heavy at times in the northern and central western areas, while winds will be westerly moderate to brisk, the JMD added.
The department warned of slippery roads, flash floods in low-lying areas, and poor visibility due to fog formation in mountainous areas.
Similar cold weather conditions will persist in most areas of the Kingdom on Monday, with rainfall in the northern and central regions and moderate westerly winds.
On Tuesday, another cold front is expected to push temperatures down, bringing heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, hail and northwesterly brisk winds.
Daytime temperatures expected for today in Amman will reach 11 degrees Celsius, 12 in the northern cities and 8 in the southern governorates, dropping down at night to 5, 4 and 2 respectively. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 23 degrees and lows standing at 15 at night, the JMD said .
