- Interior Minister Salama Hammad on Wednesday discussed with the European Union Ambassador to Jordan Maria Hadjitheodosiou means of boosting bilateral cooperation, especially in the development and economic fields.
The meeting tackled mechanisms of enhancing the response to challenges resulting from the refugee crises in the Kingdom, and supporting the local host communities.
Hammad underlined the ministry's commitment to further cooperation and networking with the European Union, commending the union's role in supporting the development and economic projects implemented across the Kingdom.
He pointed out that development is an integral part of the Ministry's strategy, adding that it works relentlessly, in line with royal directives, to achieve sustainable development, and provide projects that utilize governorates' advantages.
The official underscored the importance of enhancing cooperation and coordination between Jordan and European countries, and the importance of supporting Jordan's positive role in dealing the refugee crises.
She said that the European organization is looking to develop its projects in Jordan and increase aid to enable it to overcome the challenges and difficulties facing the local economy.
