House Speaker meets Qatari Audit Bureau Chief

Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament, Atif Tarawneh, Monday underscored the strong ties between Jordan and Qatar, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II and the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.

During a meeting with the President of the Qatari Audit Bureau, Sheikh Bandar al-Thani, Tarawneh said relations with Qatar are based on mutual trust and respect, stressing the importance of enhancing cooperation in all fields to serve the interests of the two countries and peoples.

Tarawneh stated that the lower house is keen on providing support to the audit bureau in its oversight of various government institutions to protect public funds.

He underlined the importance of an independent audit bureau, with no restrictions, stressing the need to exchange expertise between Jordan and Qatar in this area.

Sheikh Bandar underscored the importance of enhancing cooperation between the two countries' oversight bodies. He also lauded the advanced level of relations, describing them as "robust and deep-rooted."
