Minister of Health Dr. Saad Jaber and his Qatari counterpart Dr. Hanan Mohammad Al Kuwari on Monday discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the health field.
During a meeting on the sidelines of the First Qatar Public Health Conference, which opened in Doha yesterday and concluded on Tuesday, the two ministers reviewed the cooperation between the two countries and ways of enhancing them, especially in the health fields, in addition to a number of issues of common concern.
The conference, entitled "Ten Years of Public Health: Looking Back and Forward", was attended by a number of ministers and officials and about 50 speakers and 500 participants from Arab and foreign countries.
The gathering discuss all services in the public health sector, including prevention, protection, health promotion, communicable diseases, non-communicable diseases, food safety and environmental health.
Participants also reviewed some 60 research abstracts from various health sector partners in the State of Qatar to build effective and long-term strategic partnerships.
The conference was an important occasion to maximize the benefit of local, regional and international expertise and experiences in the field of public health, the Qatari Health Minister said in press statements at the end of the conference.
