The New York Police Department is stepping up patrols in three Brooklyn neighborhoods with a large numbers of Jewish residents after a string of possibly anti-Semitic crimes, Mayor Bill de Blasio said in a tweet.

US police officers are scheduled to patrol the streets of Borough Park, Crown Heights and Williamsburg, where they also plan to visit houses of worship, de Blasio announced.

Police have gotten at least five reports this week of attacks possibly propelled by anti-Jewish bias.
