Association urges retailers to take on public safety measures

President of the Foodstuff Traders Association, Khalil Haj Tawfiq, appealed to the retailers and owners of groceries and supermarkets, to be opened today, to adhere to the measures of public safety and instructions announced by the government regarding the direct sale to the citizens.

In a statement to the Jordan News Agency (Petra) on Wednesday, Tawfiq sressed the need to completely follow the announced instructions of wearing masks and gloves, providing sterilization materials and ensuring that there is no overcrowding inside the shops.

"Shops shall be opened at 10:00 a.m. and closed at 6:00 p.m., while the early morning hours well only be for receiving and preparing goods," he added.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Omar Razzaz has announced small groceries, basic foodstuff stores, vegetable and fruit shops, bakeries, pharmacies and water selling stores, will be opened starting today until further notice.
