US records under 700 COVID-19 deaths for 3rd consecutive day

The United States recorded less than 700 new deaths from the novel coronavirus for the third day in a row, according to data from the Johns Hopkins University.

The US, which is the world's most affected country by the pandemic, registered some 657 new COVID-19 deaths during the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of fatalities to 98,875, along with around 1.7 million cases, the University's data showed on Wednesday.
