Israel closes Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron

Al-Anbat - Israeli occupation authorities early Monday closed the Ibrahimi Mosque in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron to Muslim worshippers to allow settlers celebrate the Jewish holiday of "Yom Kippur", a Palestinian official source said.

In a statement, director of the Ibrahimi Mosque, Hafzi Abu Sneineh, said that the occupation troops deployed their soldiers in the vicinity of the holy shrine and the old city, and tightened their measures on citizens who live in the area, in order to secure the celebrations of the settlers.

"Israeli authorities have closed the Mosque on Sunday 3:00 pm until Monday 10:00 pm," he noted, adding that the settlers have set up tents in the park of the Ibrahimi and performed their Talmudic rituals
